Today was Sunday so we took a day off from dreaming about Lamb, and had a lovely family day out, but what does a wannabe farmer do an a day off..? He plays at being a Dairy farmer of course... What else would you do on a Sunday?
I know we keep banging on about it, but our lambs really are free range, so I thought I'd share a few pictures with you of us checking them over the weekend just to prove it. This is shepherding Dorset Style, no quads for us, just a good old nag, (mine tried to buck me off twice!!)
If you haven't been to Dorchester Show you really must. Now billed as the Dorset County Show www.dorsetcountyshow.co.uk it has something for everyone yet still maintains its traditional farming feel. We entered some of our lambs in the Commercial Lamb and Carcass classes and after the success we had at Melplash show www.melplashshow.co.uk we were feeling the pressure... We're delighted to announce that we won the native
OK please don't tell the boss that we've put this on here, as she's a bit shy... But we just wanted to share a little picture of her that appeared in the Bridport news. This is Jenny, collecting her cup for Champion Native lambs at Melplash show, she had quite an incredible day winning First, Second and Fourth in the Heavy Native class, First and Fourth in the Light Native class and the cup for Champion Native lamb.. You can read the full article here if your so inclined... its page 26 of the 3/9/2015 Bridport News or on Twitter @bridportnews or https://www.facebook.com/Bridportnews
We are delighted to announce that we won, the very prestigious Melplash show www.melplashshow.co.uk carcasses class for our heavy native (that's what our's are) lambs. So there you have it, we keep telling you how wonderful, meaty, and perfect are lambs are and now the Judges at Melplash show agree with us..
